Maddox Lane represents my roots, a literal and figurative location where I grew up, a place where food is love. I was fortunate, my parents understood the value of farm to table and we grew and raised our own food as much as we could. We had a strawberry patch, bottle fed calves, and chased pigs around the yard a few hundred times. Our garden grew by a few yards each year and it wasn’t unusual to have everything from tomatoes and cucumber to summer squash and pumpkin growing at various stages. I was frequently locked out of the house with a 5-gallon bucket during the midst of the Kentucky high-humidity, scorching sun harvest season – my ticket to get back into air conditioning was that same bucket full of berries. Living this lifestyle is where my work ethic and appreciation for food came from.

My mom showed love through many talents. One of them being cooking and she passed that quality on to her daughters. She was an artist, a creator, quick-witted in life and in the kitchen. She had a passion for food, but never took it, or life, too serious.

When I left home homemade jams and pickles no longer existed on a shelf in the basement. There was no replication for Kentucky tomatoes warm from the summer sun. And no one could cook quite like mom could. I found ways to make food memories the best I could along the way.

I slowly moved west, first Salt Lake City for adventures, Arizona for a business degree, and eventually Los Angeles for career moves (and finally, back to Arizona to live my dream). Work became my identity, I came to miss the love that a home cooked meal provided. As life would have it, food became my work and my passion. I spent six years in Los Angeles working with a fabulous nutritionist, running her business operations. Together, we created a plant-based delivered cleanse program that became widely popular. I was provided many opportunities to work with brands in the wellness space. I was able to cook for wellness retreats and personal clients sharing my love of food. It became not only about delicious food, but food with intention and food with love. I learned all I could about the benefits of living a “Blue Zone” lifestyle, developed a passion for Mediterranean cooking (that encompasses a LOT of regional flavors, 21 to be exact), and worked with many clients to convert to a more flexible Plant-Based Diet

My dream evolved to nurture clients with food your new age, Californian meets Kentuckian inspired “mom” would (no matter your age or where you are). Quality is important, taste is important, creating food memories are important, your well-being is important, and none of it exists without love.
